DIY modular synth in a thrifted case

The case I found in a thrift store. Very shiny, cool color, clean inside. My rough estimate was that it would fit two rows. Perfectly.

I soldered two small power supplies, each with a roughly 340mA output. It's not much, but the parts were cheaper than standard Eurorack Power Supply Units and I don't need an external 230V to 12V adapter. The PSU are paralell and the power draw of the modules is spread evenly.

Then I needed two bus boards, which are also easily available as DIY kits. Some terminal blocks for safe connections to the power supply.

The first few modules I soldered were 4x oscillators, designed by David Haillant. Front Panels are easily made from thrifted alu panels, and an alu scissors. Pretty fun project actually, satisfying to have made my own panels.

Then I attended a workshop at the Acid Solder Club where I built two 'Micro Dosers' by Error Instruments. For that digital glitchy noise. Next came about 3 LFOs and VCFs also by David. Finally I soldered a Chroma Cauldron Wave Comber to process analog video. I use my camcorder to record and old beamers to project.
